本展覧会では主に生物と製図用文房具や事務用品を組み合わせた半生物・半幾何学的なフォルムを扱った” imagine Series ”を中心に展開。
本シリーズの発端としては作家が多摩美術大学に通っていた学部時代、動物が印刷された写真に遊び心で三角定規や分度器の写真をコラージュし、その動物と製図用文房具が混じりあったかたちの輪郭をなぞることで有機的な存在と無機的な存在が交錯した中間のフォルムが生まれたのがきっかけである。
本展のタイトルとして掲げる(whereabouts of the) ANIMA〈魂の行方〉を何に見出すのか。作者は会期中practice(実践)とそこから見出すinduction(法則)によって、生命体の在り方を多義的な視点から模索していく。

小学校の頃僕は昆虫採集が好きだった。
市外の山まで車で1時間程走ったあと、
数匹の昆虫を採集し虫かごに入れ、自宅へと帰る。
まだ幼かった僕はその昆虫がオスかメスかどのような種類かも分からなかった。しかし均等に標本箱に並べられた昆虫たちを眺めている時が、
一番高揚感を感じる瞬間だった。
それから僕は大人になり、今でも作品をサンプリングに近い感覚で制作している。この空間は仮想の標本としての表出である。

During elementary school I loved to collect insects.
About an hour drive outside the city, I could collect the specimen.
I put them in a cage an brought them home.
I was young, I did not know much about the insects.
I could not even tell genders apart.
It was when I saw the evenly arranged the insects in the specimen box,
that I felt joy and enthusiasm.
To this day, I create work that brings order to the samples.
Like this space, representing virtual specimen.
